The DHL Stormers will be aiming to build on a big Super Rugby Unlocked win in Kimberley when they host the Toyota Cheetahs in Cape Town on Saturday evening.

The Cape side returned to winning ways with a comfortable 39-6 win away to the Tafel Lager Griquas to move up to second spot and 13 points on the log standings, six adrift of the Vodacom Bulls.
“I thought Griquas did well in the scrum and we didn’t do as well in that phase as we would have liked, but maybe it was a good thing for us as it forced us to work harder on our attacking game,” said Stormers coach John Dobson in the aftermath.
“I was pleased that we could attack with more flair. I was pleased with the way we controlled the territory battle in the first half and combined that with better rhythm on attack, certainly much better than we have been able to produce recently. I thought we left some points and tries out there but that is better than not creating scoring opportunities, which has been a problem for us recently.”
Commenting on their upcoming match against the Cheetahs, Dobson noted that his team will have to be at their very best against a side fresh from defeat in Durban.
“The Cheetahs are a strong team and we are going to have to be very good and play with a lot of energy against them if we want to win,” he added.

The Cheetahs followed a narrow win over the Bulls with a 19-13 loss to the Cell C Sharks, this after their scheduled game against the Emirates Lions was called off.
This will be the first Super Rugby meeting between the Stormers and Cheetahs in three years, the last of which ended in a 40-34 win for the Cape side in Bloemfontein.
